Seasoned Crumbs

House-Made Spaghetti

Method

Prepare the House-Made Spaghetti

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and crack the eggs into it. Using a fork, gradually mix the flour into the eggs until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Wrap in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Roll Out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece out thinly using a pasta machine or rolling pin, then cut into desired spaghetti shape.

Make the House-Made Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Season

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Prepare the Seasoned Crumbs

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Fry the Crumbs

In a large skillet, heat 0.5 cups of olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the seasoned crumbs and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cook the Spaghetti

  1. 8

    Boil Water

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. 9

    Cook the Spaghetti

Add the fresh spaghetti to the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes until al dente. Drain and reserve a little pasta water.

Assemble and Serve

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

On each plate, add a serving of spaghetti, top with the house-made sauce, and sprinkle generously with the seasoned crumbs.

  2. 11

    Garnish

Finish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
