Flatbread Dough

House-Made Sauce

Method

Flatbread Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

House-Made Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine canned tomato sauce, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Flatbread Assembly and Baking

  1. 7

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 8

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle or circle, about 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 9

    Add the Sauce

Spread a generous layer of the house-made sauce over the flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 10

    Add the Cheese and Toppings

Sprinkle the four cheese blend evenly over the sauce, then add the pepperoni slices and banana peppers on top.

  5. 11

    Bake the Flatbread

Transfer the flatbread to a baking sheet or preheated pizza stone. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  6. 12

    Slice and Serve

Remove the flatbread from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice into pieces and serve warm.
