Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil over high heat.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.
- 3
Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 4
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 5
- 6
Add Cream
Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- 7
Incorporate Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- 8
Season Sauce
Season the sauce with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
