Flautas

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken or beef with cheese. Mix well and set aside.

  2. 2

    Roll the Flautas

Heat each corn tortilla in a skillet for about 10 seconds until warm. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling on each tortilla, roll tightly, and secure with a toothpick if needed.

  3. 3

    Fry the Flautas

Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the rolled flautas and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Rice and Beans

Cook rice according to package instructions. For fried beans, heat canned refried beans in a small pot until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the flautas on a plate with a side of rice and fried beans. Top with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa or pico de gallo.
