Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it is hot enough for baking.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the large eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
Combining Ingredients
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Using a spatula, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
Baking
- 7
Scoop and Arrange
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake Cookies
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
