Method

Preparation of Seaweed

  1. 1

    Soak the Dried Seaweed

Place the dried seaweed in a bowl and cover it with 500ml of water. Let it soak for about 20 minutes or until it has fully rehydrated and expanded.

  2. 2

    Drain and Rinse

Once the seaweed has rehydrated, drain it in a colander and rinse it under cold water to remove any excess salt or impurities.

Flavoring the Seaweed

  1. 3

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 4

    Combine Seaweed and Dressing

In a larger bowl, add the drained seaweed and pour the dressing over it. Toss gently until the seaweed is evenly coated.

  3. 5

    Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the seaweed salad for added flavor and texture.

Serving

  1. 6

    Final Touch

Let the seaweed sit for about 5 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
