Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Make sure they are completely peeled and deveined.

  2. 2

    Mix the Seasonings

In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red chili flakes (if using). Mix well to create a seasoning blend.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink. Do not overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.

  3. 5

    Add Seasonings

Flip the shrimp over and sprinkle the seasoning blend evenly over them. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked and opaque.

  4. 6

    Add Green Onions

Stir in the chopped green onions and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute until wilted.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Hot

Transfer the salt and pepper shrimp to a serving platter. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the shrimp.
