Tempura Shrimp

Sushi Ingredients

Method

Tempura Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tempura Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the tempura batter mix with cold water. Whisk gently until just combined; do not overmix, as lumps are acceptable.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the tempura batter, allowing excess to drip off, then carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Sushi Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Ingredients

While the tempura shrimp cools, prepare the crabstick, cucumber, salmon, and avocado by slicing them into thin strips.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Dish

On a serving plate, arrange the tempura shrimp, crabstick, cucumber strips, salmon slices, and avocado slices neatly.

  3. 6

    Add Eel Sauce and Lemon

Drizzle eel sauce over the assembled ingredients and garnish with lemon slices around the plate.
