Brew Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Prepare Coffee Mixture
In a shallow bowl, mix the cooled espresso coffee with 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur. Set aside.
Cream Filling

Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar
In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1/3 cup of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in 1 cup of mascarpone cheese until well combined.

Whip Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Then add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix gently.

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

In a 9x9 inch dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by half of the mascarpone cream mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with the cream on top.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
