Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Unwrap the mozzarella cheese sticks and set them aside on a plate.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

    Prepare Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In the second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In the third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Bread the Cheese Sticks

Take a mozzarella stick and roll it in the flour to coat it completely. Then dip it into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat this process for all cheese sticks.

  3. 4

    Chill the Breaded Sticks

Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape during frying.

Frying

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can check the temperature with a kitchen thermometer.

  2. 6

    Fry the Sticks

Carefully add a few mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the sticks and drain them on paper towels.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Sauce

Arrange the fried mozzarella sticks on a serving platter and serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
