Method

Vegan Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Batter

In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Slowly whisk in the Guinness beer until smooth and slightly thick. Let the batter sit for about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small amount of batter into it; it should sizzle and float.

  3. 3

    Batter the Artichokes

Drain the artichoke hearts and pat them dry. Dip each artichoke heart into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Artichokes

Carefully lower the battered artichokes into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
