Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rice

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tofu

While the rice is cooking, press the tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut it into cubes. In a pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, and dashi powder. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Fluff the cooked rice and stir in the sauce mixture. Gently fold in the cooked tofu and chopped green onions.

  5. 5

    Serve

Spoon the rice and tofu mixture onto plates. Garnish with nori sheets torn into strips and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve warm.
