Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into small fry shapes, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the dried potato strips in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper to taste. Toss to coat evenly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries immediately while hot and crispy.
