Sausage Patties and Pancakes

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Make the Sausage Patties

In a skillet over medium heat, form the breakfast sausage into small patties. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Pancake Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and maple syrup. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  3. 3

    Cook the Pancakes

In a non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Repeat until all batter is used, adding more butter as necessary.

  4. 4

    Assemble the McGriddles

Take one pancake, place a sausage patty on top, add a slice of cheddar cheese, and then top with another pancake. Repeat for the remaining ingredients.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve warm with additional maple syrup on the side if desired.
