Dough

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Create a well in the center, add olive oil and the activated yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 7

    Add Cheese Toppings

Spread the mozzarella, gorgonzola, parmesan, and ricotta cheese evenly over the dough.

  4. 8

    Add Prosciutto and Figs

Tear the prosciutto into pieces and place it on the pizza. Add sliced fresh figs on top.

  5. 9

    Bake Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the oven (or onto the preheated pizza stone) and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

  6. 10

Finish with Fig Jam and Basil

Once out of the oven, drizzle fig jam over the pizza and garnish with fresh basil leaves and black pepper.
