Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the egg and water. Gradually mix until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and dill. Mix well until combined.

  3. 3

    Roll Out the Dough

After the dough has rested, roll it out on a floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick. Use a round cutter to cut out small circles (about 2 inches in diameter).

  4. 4

    Fill the Pelmeni

Place a small teaspoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

  5. 5

    Cook the Pelmeni

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Drop the pelmeni into the boiling water and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve hot with sour cream or a drizzle of melted butter.
