Shrimp & Grits Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grits

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Gradually stir in the grits, reduce heat to low, and cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

  2. 2

    Add Cheese and Butter

Once the grits are cooked, stir in the butter and shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm.

  3. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.

  4. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. Add the shrimp and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine and Serve

Once the shrimp are cooked, add the crispy bacon back into the skillet. Serve the shrimp mixture over a bowl of cheesy grits, garnished with sliced green onions.
