Tea Base

Method

Preparation of Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.

  2. 2

    Add Green Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 2 tablespoons of green tea leaves. Let it steep for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Strain Tea

After steeping, strain the tea leaves from the water, discarding the leaves. You should have a clear green tea base.

Flavoring

  1. 4

    Add Mint Leaves

Add 1 cup of fresh mint leaves to the strained tea. Stir gently to release the mint's essential oils.

  2. 5

    Sweeten the Tea

Stir in 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar, adjusting to taste. Mix until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  3. 6

    Serve

Pour the tea into traditional Moroccan tea glasses or cups. Serve hot, garnished with a sprig of mint if desired.
