Method
Preparation of Lemonade Base
Juicing the Lemons
Roll the lemons on a countertop to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and use a juicer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.
Combining Ingredients
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir well to mix.
Adding Mint
Muddling Mint
In a separate bowl, place the fresh mint leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint leaves to release their oils.
Infusing Mint Flavor
Add the muddled mint to the pitcher with the lemonade and stir well. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 30 minutes to let the mint flavor infuse into the lemonade.
Serving
Straining (optional)
If you prefer a smoother texture, strain the lemonade through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the mint leaves.
