Filling Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Peaches
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Toss gently until the peaches are evenly coated. Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Topping Preparation
- 2
Make the Topping
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add in the milk and melted butter. Stir until just combined; the batter will be lumpy.
- 3
Assemble the Cobbler
Pour the batter over the peach filling in the baking dish. Do not stir; the batter will spread as it bakes.
Baking
- 4
Bake the Cobbler
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.
Serving
- 5
Serve the Cobbler
Allow the cobbler to cool slightly for about 10 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top or on the side.
