Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ham

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the ham from its packaging and place it on a rack in a roasting pan, flat side down.

  2. 2

    Score the Ham

Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. This will help the glaze penetrate the meat.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Glaze

In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and cloves. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.

  4. 4

    Apply the Glaze

Brush the glaze generously over the scored surface of the ham. Reserve some glaze for basting later.

  5. 5

    Add Water to the Pan

Pour water into the bottom of the roasting pan to keep the ham moist during cooking.

  6. 6

    Bake the Ham

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).

  7. 7

    Baste the Ham

Remove the foil for the last 30 minutes of cooking and baste the ham with the reserved glaze every 10 minutes for a beautiful, caramelized finish.

  8. 8

    Rest and Serve

Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
