Crab Cakes

Method

Crab Cakes Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the fresh crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, green onions, celery, bell pepper, Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Add Breadcrumbs

Gently fold in the panko breadcrumbs until the mixture holds together. Be careful not to overmix.

  3. 3

    Form Cakes

Using your hands, form the crab mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.

  4. 4

    Chill

Place the formed crab cakes on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.

  5. 5

    Fry Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the crab cakes and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Lemon Butter Preparation

  1. 6

    Melt Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

  2. 7

    Add Flavors

Once melted, add the fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and salt. Stir to combine.

  3. 8

    Simmer

Allow the lemon butter mixture to simmer gently for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
