Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in cooking the steak evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the ribeye steak with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub the seasonings into the meat to ensure even coverage.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer, but not smoke.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Place the ribeye steak in the hot pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time according to your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Optional Garnish

For extra flavor, during the last minute of cooking, add a sprig of fresh rosemary and a tablespoon of butter to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steak.

Resting

  1. 6

    Let it Rest

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Steak

Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve on a plate. Enjoy your perfectly cooked ribeye steak!
