Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruit Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh seasonal fruit, granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon. Gently toss until the fruit is evenly coated. Set aside to let the juices develop for about 15 minutes.

Topping Preparation

  1. 2

    Make the Topping

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add in the melted unsalted butter and milk. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Combine Fruit and Topping

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Spoon the topping mixture over the fruit, covering it as much as possible.

Baking

  1. 4

    Bake the Cobbler

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Walnut-Praline Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, unsalted butter, and heavy cream. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and begins to boil. Add the chopped walnuts and vanilla extract, stirring to combine. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Cobbler

Once baked, let the cobbler cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, drizzled with the walnut-praline sauce.
