Chicken Tenders

Cream Gravy

Fresh Cut Fries

Method

Chicken Tenders

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

In a bowl, combine buttermilk and the egg, whisking until smooth. In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Coat the Chicken

Dip each chicken tenderloin into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken tenderloins and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Cream Gravy

  1. 4

    Make the Roux

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for about 2 minutes until it becomes a light golden color.

  2. 5

    Add Chicken Broth

Gradually whisk in the chicken broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer, continuing to whisk until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Finish the Gravy

Stir in the milk, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Fresh Cut Fries

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin fries, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

In another deep skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the fries in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, sprinkling with salt while still hot.
