Method
Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4-6 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add a pinch of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 2 cups of elbow macaroni to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes until al dente. Stir occasionally.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.

Add Milk
Gradually pour in 2 cups of milk, continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth and starts to thicken, about 3-5 minutes.

Add Cheese
Lower the heat and stir in 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Season with 0.5 tsp salt and 0.25 tsp black pepper.

Combine Pasta
Add the drained pasta to the cheese sauce, stirring until well combined. Serve warm.
Tomato Sauce Preparation

Sauté Garlic
In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes
Pour in 1 can of crushed tomatoes and stir in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, 0.5 tsp salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Bring to a simmer.

Simmer Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Serve
Serve the sauce over the cooked pasta, mixing well, or serve on the side.
