Shrimp
Spicy Thai Chili Garlic Sauce
Method
Preparing the Shrimp
- 1
Coat the Shrimp
In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, place the beaten eggs. Dip each shrimp into the egg mixture, then into the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot. You can test the oil by dropping a small bit of batter into it; if it sizzles, it’s ready.
- 3
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the coated shrimp in batches to the hot oil. Fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Making the Sauce
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the Thai chili sauce, minced garlic, lime juice, honey, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- 5
Combining and Serving
- 6
Toss the Shrimp
In a large bowl, add the fried shrimp and pour the spicy Thai chili garlic sauce over them. Toss until all shrimp are well-coated in the sauce.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped green onions and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Serve immediately.
