    Prepare the Bananas

    Peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise, then cut each half into thirds to make six pieces per banana.

    Make the Sauce

    In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the mixture is bubbly and well combined.

    Cook the Bananas

    Carefully add the banana pieces to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes, turning them gently until they are coated in the sauce and slightly softened.

    Add the Rum

    Remove the skillet from the heat and carefully add the dark rum. Return the skillet to the heat and allow it to flambé (ignite the rum) if desired, or simply simmer for another minute.

    Serve

    Serve the warm bananas foster over scoops of vanilla ice cream, drizzling extra sauce on top.
