Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Mix the Dough Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water and vegetable oil, mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Filling Preparation
- 3
Combine Filling Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork or beef, chopped green onions, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Assembling and Cooking
- 4
Roll the Dough
After the dough has rested, divide it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each ball into a thin circle (about 4-5 inches in diameter).
- 5
Fill the Dough Wrappers
Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the circle in half to create a half-moon shape, pinching the edges to seal tightly.
- 6
Fry the Yaki Mando
Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the filled yaki mando and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the yaki mando from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
