Chicken Marinade
Frying
Sesame Sauce
Method
Preparing the Chicken
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, and egg. Whisk until smooth. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Mix well and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Frying the Chicken
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 175°C (350°F).
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the marinated chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chicken and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Making the Sesame Sauce
- 4
Prepare the Sauce
In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat while stirring until the honey is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in sesame seeds.
Final Assembly
- 5
Combine Chicken and Sauce
In a large mixing bowl, combine the fried chicken with the sesame sauce. Toss well to coat the chicken evenly.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Chop the green onions and sprinkle over the sesame chicken. Serve hot over steamed rice or as an appetizer.
