Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Proteins

In a bowl, combine shrimp, beef, and chicken with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix well and let marinate for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and Szechuan peppercorns (if using). Set aside.

  3. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the bell pepper and zucchini, chop the green onions, and mince the garlic and ginger.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Cook the Proteins

Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil and stir-fry the marinated shrimp, beef, and chicken until they are cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

  2. 5

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same pan, add a little more oil if necessary. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the diced bell pepper and zucchini. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 6

    Combine and Add Sauce

Return the cooked proteins to the pan with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  4. 7

    Add Garnish

Remove the pan from heat. Stir in the chopped peanuts and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
