Method

Marinating the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine the shrimp with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Toss well to coat the shrimp evenly. Cover and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Making the Sauce

  1. 2

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, Hunan chili paste, and sugar until well combined. Set aside.

Stir-Frying

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Aromatics

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the hot oil. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 5

    Add the Vegetables

Add the sliced red and green bell peppers, snow peas, and green onions to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

  4. 6

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through.

  5. 7

    Add the Sauce

Pour the prepared sauce over the shrimp and vegetables. Stir well to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  6. 8

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve the Hunan shrimp hot over steamed rice or noodles.
