Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Lo Mein Noodles

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add the Lo Mein noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until well combined. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Stir-Fry the Protein

In a large wok or skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced chicken breast and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the protein from the pan and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same wok or skillet, add a bit more oil if necessary. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the julienned carrots, sliced bell pepper, snow peas, and sliced mushrooms. Stir-fry for about 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  3. 5

    Combine Everything

Return the cooked chicken and shrimp to the wok with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture, and stir well to combine. Add the cooked Lo Mein noodles and toss everything together until well coated with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

  4. 6

    Finish and Serve

Remove from heat, and garnish with chopped green onions. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
