Marinade

Short Ribs

Method

Marinating the Ribs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Ribs

Add the beef short ribs to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Oven

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 4

    Cook the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the marinade and shake off excess. Grill the ribs for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are nicely charred and cooked through. If using the oven, place the ribs on a baking sheet and roast for about 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through.

  3. 5

    Rest the Ribs

Once cooked, let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing them off the bone.

Serving the Dish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Rice

While the ribs are resting, prepare the cooked white rice according to package instructions.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Dish

Serve the sliced short ribs over a bed of cooked rice. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with additional chopped green onions.

  3. 8

    Enjoy!

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Galbi Bop!
