Method
Prepare the Tofu

Press the Tofu
Start by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap it in a clean kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.

Cut the Tofu
Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.

Coat in Cornstarch
Place the tofu cubes in a bowl, sprinkle with cornstarch, and toss gently until evenly coated.
Fry the Tofu

Heat the Oil
In a large non-stick skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Cook the Vegetables

Prepare the Spicy Bean Sauce

Mix the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sambal oelek, brown sugar, vegetable broth, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
Combine and Serve

Combine Tofu and Sauce
Add the fried tofu back into the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Pour the spicy bean sauce over the mixture and stir to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

Serve the family tofu hot, either on its own or over steamed rice or noodles.
