Chop the celery and slice the carrots into bite-sized pieces. If using frozen corn, ensure it is thawed.

Rinse the whole chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Season the chicken inside and out with salt and black pepper.

Brown the Chicken
Add the seasoned chicken to the pot, browning it on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. This step enhances the flavor.

Once the chicken is browned, add the chopped celery, sliced carrots, corn, thyme, and chicken broth to the pot.
