Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Beef

Trim any excess fat from the beef sirloin and slice it into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and slice the green bell peppers into strips. Peel and slice the onion into thin rings. Mince the garlic cloves.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, cornstarch, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  3. 5

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic, stir-frying for about 1 minute. Then add the green bell pepper strips and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.

  4. 6

    Combine Beef and Vegetables

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to combine. Adjust seasoning with salt to taste.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate and Serve

Serve the beef with green pepper hot, either on its own or over a bed of rice or noodles.
