Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Lo Mein noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Beef

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips against the grain. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce and cornstarch. Add the beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Stir-Fry the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add minced garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add bell pepper, carrot, broccoli, and green onions. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  3. 5

    Combine Everything

Return the beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the cooked noodles, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and black pepper. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and well combined.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve

Divide the Beef Lo Mein into serving bowls. Optionally garnish with additional green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
