Egg Drop Soup

Deep Fried Chicken

Method

Egg Drop Soup

  1. 1

    Prepare the broth

In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a gentle boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Thicken the broth

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth. Stir this mixture into the boiling broth and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  3. 3

    Add the eggs

In a bowl, beat the eggs. Slowly drizzle the eggs into the soup while stirring continuously to create egg ribbons.

  4. 4

    Season the soup

Add soy sauce, salt, and white pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped green onions just before serving.

Egg Roll

  1. 5

    Prepare the filling

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground pork until browned. Add the cabbage, carrots, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. Stir and cook until vegetables are tender. Remove from heat.

  2. 6

    Wrap the rolls

Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface, spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the filling into the center. Fold the sides over and roll tightly to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers.

  3. 7

    Fry the rolls

In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Pork Fried Rice

  1. 8

    Cook the pork

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook until browned.

  2. 9

    Add vegetables

Stir in the green peas and diced carrots, cooking until tender.

  3. 10

    Scramble the eggs

Push the pork and vegetables to one side of the skillet. Crack the eggs into the pan and scramble until cooked. Mix everything together.

  4. 11

    Add rice and season

Add the cooked rice to the skillet. Pour in soy sauce and sesame oil. Stir-fry until everything is well mixed and heated through. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 12

    Garnish

Top with chopped green onions before serving.

Deep Fried Chicken

  1. 13

    Prepare the coating

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 14

    Coat the chicken

Dredge chicken pieces in the flour mixture, ensuring each piece is well coated. Shake off excess flour.

  3. 15

    Heat the oil

In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 16

    Fry the chicken

Carefully add chicken pieces to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Chicken Lo-Mein

  1. 17

    Cook the noodles

Cook the lo-mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 18

    Stir-fry the chicken

In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced chicken breast and stir-fry until cooked through.

  3. 19

    Add vegetables

Add bell pepper, carrots, and broccoli to the skillet. Stir-fry until vegetables are tender.

  4. 20

    Combine ingredients

Add cooked noodles to the skillet along with soy sauce and sesame oil. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.

  5. 21

    Season

Season with salt and black pepper to taste before serving.
