Broth

Method

Broth Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Broth

In a large pot, combine the chicken or vegetable broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onions, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Wonton Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Wontons

In a bowl, mix together the ground pork (or chicken), chopped shrimp, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, chopped green onions, and salt. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Then, fold the two corners of the triangle towards the center and press to seal again.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Wontons

Once the broth is simmering, gently add the prepared wontons to the pot. Allow them to cook for about 5-7 minutes until they float to the top and are cooked through.

  2. 4

    Add Vegetables

After the wontons are cooked, add the chopped bok choy, sliced mushrooms, and sliced carrots to the pot. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Serving

  1. 5

    Serve the Soup

Ladle the wonton soup into bowls, ensuring each serving has wontons and vegetables. Garnish with additional chopped green onions if desired.
