Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any dirt. Remove any beards attached to the mussels.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped shallots. Sauté until fragrant and the shallots are translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Spices and Liquids

Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes, white wine, canned tomatoes (with juice), and vegetable broth. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. 4

    Cook the Mussels

Add the cleaned mussels to the pot. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels open. Discard any mussels that do not open.

  5. 5

    Finish and Serve

Stir in the chopped parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot with crusty bread.
