Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake meatballs in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
- 4
Prepare the Tomato Sauce
In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add your favorite tomato sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 5
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, layer the meatballs and pour the tomato sauce over them. Top with slices of provolone cheese.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
