Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and basil.
- 2
Breading the Chicken
Set up a breading station with three plates: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip it in the egg mixture, and then coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove them and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Assemble the Dish
In a baking dish, spread half of the tomato sauce on the bottom. Place the fried chicken breasts in the dish, top each with remaining tomato sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.
- 5
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your Pollo Parmigiana!
