Meatballs

Method

Cooking Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Add the egg and mix until everything is well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

With your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Tomato Sauce

While the meatballs are baking, heat a large pot over medium heat. Add olive oil, followed by diced onions and cook until translucent. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, carefully transfer them to the pot with the tomato sauce. Let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
