Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook Ziti Pasta
In a large pot, cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in the tomato sauce, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti pasta, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, chopped basil, and the prepared tomato sauce. Mix well until combined.

Assemble the Dish
Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let the baked ziti cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired.
