Brewing the Tea

Boil the Water
In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

Steep the Tea
Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

Remove Tea Bags
After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the water and discard them.
Sweetening the Tea

Add Sugar
While the tea is still warm, add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the brewed tea. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Flavoring (Optional)

Add Lemon Juice
If desired, stir in 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice for a refreshing citrus flavor.

For an additional refreshing taste, add a handful of fresh mint leaves to the tea and stir gently.
Cooling and Serving

Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
