Method
Dumpling Wrappers
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 tsp of salt. Gradually add 3 tbs of water while mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until it's smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 3
Roll Out the Wrappers
After resting, divide the dough into small portions and roll each one out into thin circles, about 3-4 inches in diameter.
Filling
- 4
Mix the Filling
In a bowl, combine 1 cup of ground pork, 1 cup of chopped green onions, 2 tsp of minced garlic, 1 tsp of minced ginger, 2 tbs of soy sauce, 1 tbs of sesame oil, 1 tsp of salt, and 1 tsp of pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
Assembly and Cooking
- 5
Fill the Dumplings
Take one dumpling wrapper, spoon about 1-2 tbs of filling into the center, and fold the wrapper in half, sealing the edges by pinching together. Repeat with all wrappers and filling.
- 6
Fry the Dumplings
In a large skillet, heat 2 tbs of vegetable oil over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet and fry for about 3-4 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
- 7
Steam the Dumplings
Carefully add 1 cup of water to the skillet, cover with a lid, and steam the dumplings for about 5-6 minutes until cooked through.
- 8
Serve
Remove the lid, let any remaining water evaporate, and serve the pot stickers hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
