Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Noodles

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the chow mein noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually 4-5 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a bowl, season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Whisk until smooth and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic, sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and snow peas. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.

  2. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet. Add the seasoned shrimp to the other side and cook for about 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.

  3. 6

    Combine and Stir-fry

Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the skillet along with the sauce mixture. Toss everything together and stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and well combined.

  4. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and serve hot.
