Dough

For frying

Method

Making the Dough

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing with your hands until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Kneading

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. 3

    Resting

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

Preparing the Filling

  1. 4

    Mixing Ingredients

In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assembling the Pot Stickers

  1. 5

    Rolling the Dough

After the dough has rested, divide it into 6 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 6

    Filling the Dumplings

Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough in half and pinch the edges to seal, creating a half-moon shape.

Cooking the Pot Stickers

  1. 7

    Frying

In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Place the pot stickers in the pan and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 8

    Steaming

Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover immediately. Allow to steam for about 5 minutes until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.

  3. 9

    Serving

Remove the pot stickers from the pan, let them cool slightly, and serve with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
