Method

Preparing the Beef

  1. 1

    Marinate the Beef

In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Mix well until the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Making the Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a separate bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Stir until well combined and set aside.

Cooking the Dish

  1. 3

    Stir-fry the Vegetables

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of oil and once hot, add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are just tender. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Beef

In the same skillet, add the marinated beef and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through. Stir frequently to ensure even cooking.

  3. 5

    Combine and Finish

Add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef, stir for another minute until fragrant. Then, return the stir-fried vegetables to the skillet. Pour the sauce over the mixture and toss everything together until well coated. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Garnishing and Serving

  1. 6

    Garnish

If desired, sprinkle chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds over the dish before serving.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
